FYI Microsoft discontinued supporting Microsoft Windows Vista in April 2017. Thus it will be very difficult to locate a replacement copy for your system. Things change and it's time to upgrade to either win7, win8 or win10 assuming your system can handle win10.

In addition to what the Other Person wrote, you will find that there is something wrong with Windows Update under Microsoft Vista, after Service Pack 2 is installed. The symptom is that Windows Update LITERALLY takes 7 to 10 DAYS of continuous operation to identify the required updates.
Also, you will find that many anti-virus software programs now REFUSE to install under Vista.
Ditto for other third-party software.
You have several options:
- Install the UBUNTU variant of Linux -- your hardware is "beefy" enough to run it, and it includes the modern FireFox web-browser, and the free LibreOffice suite that is compatible with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
- Try to find a copy of Windows 7 or Windows 8 -- both have been "withdrawn from marketing", but you may be able to find a copy on eBay or Amazon or Craig's List -- and install on your computer.
- Access www.BestBuy.com and search for "refurbished desktop". You'll find refurbished desktop systems, running Windows 10, for about $200 US. Such systems usually have "used" disk-drives. Re-install Windows 10 onto your brand-new disk-drive, or "clone" that disk-drive onto your new disk-drive, and boot from your new disk-drive.
