Windows black screen appearing on start up

HP ENVY Desktop - TE01-0005na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

Strange one this. Over the past month when I switch the PC on and starts up, all ok. Then after a few minutes a small square screen briefly appears - the sort of screen you get if you enter 'run' into the search box. The box you use to enter sort of program code - I think. Anyhow it briefly appears - there is no text - but it is so quick it would be hard to read anyhow.

Any ideas? All the updates - BIOS, windows, nortons, Nvidia - all ok.

Keith

That could be an addon from some software that was installed and it is running a routine that calls for a command line to run in a script.  I see similar boxes sometimes, too.  It really depends on the software that is running at the time.  As long as it does not stop the use of the PC, I would think it is OK.  If it really concerns you and you wish to know what it might be, look in "Task Manager" and processes running, to see what it might be.  FYI: there could be many processes running which will make more difficult to find it.

Ok that sounds good.

Perhaps I will just watch it and see. The only new program to have been installed recently was the 'Origin' client, so perhaps that is doing this.

Thanks again.
