Pavilion p6
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I need to find the Windows 8.1 product code. Where to find it? I bought the PC from a shop and at that time they didn't provide me with any System DVDs.

Now I cannot reinstall the OS.

I looked from BIOS, there was no product id.

Where can I find it?

You have to follow my instructions to reinstall W8.1.

The key is 25 characters long, not 20, and the only way you can find it/view it, is to install W8.1, and use the utility I zipped up and attached to read it.

Hi:

The product key is in the BIOS.

Here is how you can reinstall W8.1... see my solution at the link below...

Yes, I've found also elsewhere the advise "it is in the BIOS", but none of the keys there has 20 characters!

Do you know where exactly the key is shown?

Hello again.

I accepted the reply as solution. I downloaded the exe and saw that in my system (Windows 8.1 under Vmware) there was the general product key that I had set in its installation.

Thank you very much of the code!!!

The original code does not exist anywhere anymore.

Linux rules! There are no headaches like these...

You're very welcome.

If your PC came with W8 or W8.1 from HP, there should have been a product key in the BIOS.

If it did, and there was no product key in the BIOS, I have no idea what could have happened to it.
