Windows product key

Hp all in one stopped working had beta version of some kinda windows 10 downloaded hp recovery but have no product key will it auto read one imbedded into motherboard or how can find key if can’t run windows but I’m sure it would have be diff code since versions is a beta version not real version of windows 10

Hi,

A legitimate preview version (beta) of W10 is available only if you are a Windows Insider.

The product key should be imbedded in the BIOS of your motherboard. W10 will then activate post installation when you are connected to the network.

W10 will install and work except for customization features and have a activation watermark if, for some reason, your BIOS does not have the required product key.

It looks like you have a Cloud option or a recovery media purchase option for your PC at this HP site (Link).

indicate that it was originally shipped with Windows 10 Home. 

If you "activated" Windows when you first booted-up the computer, or if it automatically "called-home" to Microsoft to activate, then Microsoft knows the product-key.  So, if you reinstall Windows, and have an Internet connection,  Windows will fetch the product-key that was used when it was activated, and will use that product-key, usually without any intervention by you.

If prompted for a product-key, just click "I do not have one", to achieve the above auto-activation.
