Hi UB6424

I cannot get to my bios now, I'm pressing ESC on startup but goes to hp loading screen then this comes up and that's it can't do nothing else. When I press retry it just comes back to this page.

Hello @Paddyc1981

Shutdown/power on notebook and use ESC/F9 (boot manager) to boot from <USB flash drive>.

Hi ub6424,

Ok, so now I have got back onto the bios by holding down the shift key until off, then waiting for couple of minutes, the power up the computer and holding the ESC key down. It worked, so that was good.

In there then I changed the settings like in a previous post on this forum, to enable legacy and choose usb drive from there. Which I have done and good I can now do a factory reinstall from the usb. Which I have done! Now the problem is that it goes through the process and goes back to the start to do it all over again!

Hi ub6424,

Sorry to be a pain.

So I have just gone through the whole process again for this screen to come up with the stop code error: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

Hello @Paddyc1981

(1) Here is one (of many official) explanations:

How to Resolve Blue Screen Error with WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR in Windows

Quote: "

The error WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR stands for Windows Hardware Error Architecture.  If you receive a blue screen error (also known as a stop code) with WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR, it means that a hardware issue has occurred on your computer. Issues could be related to such things as hard drives, processor, power supply, bad or corrupted memory (DRAM).  It also could be that the device drivers are outdated or corrupted.  Another reason could be voltage changes.

"

(2) Install Official Windows 11

Download Windows 11 (Current release: Windows 11 2022 Update l Version 22H2)

Hi ub6424

Thank you for your help

I don't know how it has happened but it has now loaded, all I did last night was from the bios was a system diagnostic and it passed everything. Then I loaded it all again and it worked! Confused....

But now I'm loading my files which I backed up through HP and all I have is 34GB of 261 backup files which are useless. I have read on here that you have to unzip them using 7zip which I am currently doing, but I'm unsure if I'm doing it correctly and do I have to do every file separately?

Hello @Paddyc1981

The pleasure is mine !

It depends on which files you have backed up. Documents, pictures, videos, etc. will of course go into the appropriate subfolders of the user profile.

Keep an eye on the notebook and report back if you are satisfied with the solution or not.

Kind regards
