After cleaning my wireless keyboard it is no longer working with my HP computer model no 27=r104na, is there a way of unlocking the keyboard or synching it with the computer again.   I have

uninstalled the mouse and key board and reinstalled it with no success

depressed the right shift key for 8 sec no success.

Hi @CFD0106,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • When you cleaned the keyboard, was the USB receiver (dongle) also removed or reinserted afterward?
  • Do you see any lights or indicators on the keyboard when pressing keys?
  • Have you tested the keyboard on another computer to confirm if the issue is with the keyboard or the PC?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Check the USB Receiver
    • Ensure the wireless USB receiver is firmly connected to a working USB port. Try different ports on your PC.
  2. Replace Batteries
    • If your keyboard uses batteries, replace them with fresh ones. Weak batteries can cause connection issues.
  3. Resync the Keyboard
    • Some HP wireless keyboards have a small “connect” button (often on the underside). Press this button, then press the corresponding button on the receiver if available.
  4. Device Manager Check
    • Press Win + X → Device Manager → Keyboards. See if the keyboard is listed. If it appears with a warning icon, right-click and update the driver.
  5. Test on Another Device
    • Plug the receiver into another computer to check if the keyboard works there. This helps confirm if the issue is with the keyboard or your PC.
  6. Windows Troubleshooter
  • Go to Settings → Devices → Bluetooth & devices → Troubleshoot and run the keyboard troubleshooter to detect issues automatically.

I hope this helps.
