HP Pavilion Desktop PC TP01-2000i (1K4B7AV)

Hello! It's a TP01-2256 with a Stark Motherboard. When I insert a x4 card into the X16 slot, the computer refuses to Boot- never getting past the circle-drawing opening phase before Windows even has a chance to start. I can hit ESC and get into Diagnostics, but I can't find anything there to aid with a PCIe card install. Ive tried multiple cards, none let the PC boot. I cleaned out the slot, too.

 

Any Ideas?

Update BIOS:

  • Check if there's an updated BIOS version available for your Stark motherboard. Sometimes, BIOS updates can resolve compatibility issues with new hardware.

Reseat the Card:

  • Make sure the PCIe card is firmly and properly seated in the slot. Try removing and reinserting it to ensure a good connection.

Test Different Slots:

  • If your motherboard has other PCIe slots, try installing the card in a different slot to see if the issue persists.

Check Power Supply:

  • Verify that your power supply is sufficient to support the additional card. Ensure all power connectors are properly attached.

Remove Other PCIe Devices:

  • If you have other PCIe cards installed, try removing them temporarily to see if there is a conflict between cards.

Inspect Card for Damage:

  • Check the PCIe card for any visible signs of damage or defects.

Test with Minimal Configuration:

Thanks for responding, Alden! I haven't updated the Bios yet, but the rest I have either done, or is N/A to my situation.

 

I will be in the space tonight, so I will try updating the BIOS then, and respond back here.
