HP Z4 G4 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The BIOS updated to 2.9.1. I can access it without problems, and the BIOS log confirm the update was successful. But since that update, Windows tries to start (I can see the rotating circle) and then gives me an endless loop of Blue Screen of Death with the "kmode" generic error.

I tried to create a Windows 10 boot USB with the Windows download tool, and I created an HP recovery USB with the HP Recovery Cloud client - in both cases, when trying to select as boot device the USB, it does the same as when using the internal NVMe disk, Windows tries to start, and after a bit, gives me the BSOD.

But when I made an Ubuntu USB boot key and tried to boot from it, it worked fine. With that Ubuntu USB key, I could even access files on the NVMe and make a backup copy on an external hard drive.

I can only imagine it means the BIOS update changed something in a way that make Windows fail in accessing the NVMe, but the BIOS still shows it OK, and Ubuntu can see it and use it OK.
