accent on french keyboard gone wrong

On other versions of Windows we used to be able to do the accent on letters with the touch of two keys the accent and the letter. (eg: è, à)  Now each letter is assigned to a key on the board.  I want to go back to the old way.  Obvioulsy this on french canadian keyboard.

But with this laptop, because it is shown under windows 10?
If it is the keyboard which is thus made, it may be impossible to change this

Thank you for your answer.  In older versions of windows on other computer that I had I got used to a certain pattern of the keys.  I'm searching for the way to retrieve this ancient keyboard configuration.  Before I had to use the key " `" and the "a" to obtain "à".  Now this combination is on one key out of no where wich is not practical.  Also I need to use " ¨ " when I write my daughter's name and it's no where to be find in this new configuration that Windows created for french's computers.  I hope it's more clear.

check what I gave in link, but unfortunately, here it is the keyboard which is designed differently, if I understood correctly
So very little possibility to correct this
Or buy a keyboard identical to what you had (there are models for laptop computers, unless I'm mistaken)
Otherwise, try touch reconfiguration software (must be explained in the given link), but it can be complicated and inefficient for that!

Thank you.  I already tried this option but do not have what I need.  Even went on Microsoft help online and referred me to HP services.

I finally found the good keyboard I was searching.  I had to scroll down a little bit farther to find the "Français (Canada)" keyboard.  I had options at the top of the list that made me figure taht there were the only options.  Thank you for you're help.
