Hi everyone I have the (HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-xa1007na (7DZ60EA) and about 5 months ago I uninstalled the Realtek audio driver and ever since then after countless of trying to install different drivers I am still without sound. Is there any way for this to be fixed?

Hi @bendavisuk,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To resolve the issue of missing sound on your HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24 due to uninstalling the Realtek audio driver, follow these steps.

Download and Install the Correct Driver

  • Go to HP's Support Website:
    • Visit HP Customer Support and enter your HP Pavilion All-in-One model number.
    • Download the latest Realtek HD Audio Driver or Audio Driver available for your system.
  • Run the Installer:
    • Install the downloaded driver and restart your PC.

Update via Device Manager

If downloading from the HP site doesn’t work, try updating via Device Manager:

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
  • Right-click on Realtek Audio (or any other audio device listed), and select Update Driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for drivers.

Use Windows Update

  • Go to SettingsUpdate & SecurityWindows Update.
  • Click Check for updates. Windows might find and install the correct audio driver.

Run Audio Troubleshooter

  • Open SettingsSystemSound.
  • Scroll down and select Troubleshoot to let Windows try to detect and fix any audio issues.

Verify Audio Settings

  • Right-click the Speaker icon in the taskbar, select Sounds.
  • Ensure the Playback tab has the correct audio device (Realtek or other).
  • Select your device and click Set as Default if needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
