A reinstall of windows will bring in the "free" office that works for a short time then needs activation.

 

Please log into your Microsoft account and download the version that you registered

https://account.microsoft.com

 

and select "manage office" or whatever gets to the download

 

I suspect there is a way to activate and not have to download if you supply the same credentials that were used to register the original office.
