I have upgraded many W10 PCs to W11. Have also upgraded W11 PCs to a newer W11 version.

I have never seen what you are experiencing. Very perplexing!

How do drive volumes look in Windows "Disk Management"?

Back up data before doing any of the following:

Try going back to the previous Windows version if you just did the W11 update. You should have 10 days after the W11 update to do this.

Do an in-place W11 upgrade using Windows Update found in Settings>>System>Recovery.

Your problem is very unusual.

I've been doing PC stuff since 1993. 

I've never seen the behavior you are experiencing after doing an operating system version update.
