HP ENVY 750-400 Desktop PC series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

when i reboot i get this message bad_system_config_info ,   and every option i try i get an message unable to continue and then it reboots and it goes back to this message.

i tried to restore both refresh and leave my files, i tried self fix options and tried to get into safe mode.   but no matter what i do a few minutes into the process i get a message that is cant continue and back to the original message.

so what i am looking for is for a link to down load a recovery file  ( to be copied to usb drive) to boot up the pc or get the file to restore the pc back to factory ,   all options within the pc's menus fail (they start but then fail while running)

Thanks for any help

Hi:

If you don't need to recover your files, you can use another Windows PC with W7 x64 or newer to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06162205

If you have files you need to recover, use the media creation tool instead to create a plain W10 installation flash drive.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

When you get to the part that asks 'Where do you want to install Windows,' install it over the current Windows partition and it will create a Windows.old folder.

After W10 has completed installing, you can explore the Windows.old folder, find your old user profile and copy and paste your files to a portable hard drive.

Once you are sure you have everything, you can delete the Windows.old folder by using the disk cleanup utility>cleanup system files button on the lower left side of the window when it opens.
