I upgraded hp-game-hub and bios from hp-update-program.
After that the pc suddenly went down. And never started up again.
I got bios error cmos 502.
Recovered the bios but still does not come up in windows.

@Titus_69, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've made some progress recovering the BIOS after encountering the CMOS 502 error, but now your OMEN by HP 25L GT15-2000i is stuck on a blue spinning circle on a black screen during the Windows boot process. Let's troubleshoot this step-by-step to get your system back up and running.
✅ Summary of Current State
- BIOS update completed → caused system crash.
- CMOS 502 error appeared → you recovered the BIOS.
- Now stuck on "blue circle on black screen" (indicating Windows is trying and failing to boot).
🔧 Step-by-Step Fix
Step 1: Power Reset
- Turn off the PC completely.
- Unplug it from power.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect power and try turning it on.
If it still hangs, proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Boot into Recovery Mode
- Turn on the PC.
- As soon as you see the HP logo or black screen, press and hold the power button to force shutdown.
- Repeat this process 3 times in a row. On the 4th boot, Windows should auto-launch "Automatic Repair" mode.
Let me know if you see:
- Preparing Automatic Repair
- Diagnosing your PC
- Startup Repair screen
If WinRE opens, click:
- Advanced options → Startup Repair (try this first).
If that doesn’t fix the issue, go back and choose System Restore or Command Prompt for deeper checks.
Step 3: Use HP Diagnostics (F2)
- Turn on the PC and immediately press F2 repeatedly.
- Run "System Tests" to check for hardware failure, especially:
- Memory test
- Storage test (SSD)
This will help rule out hardware damage during the BIOS/firmware update.
Step 4: BIOS Settings Check (F10)
- Restart and press F10 to enter BIOS.
- Check the following settings:
- Boot Mode = UEFI
- Secure Boot = Enabled
- Boot Order: Ensure the primary drive is listed first.
- Save changes and reboot.
Step 5: Bootable USB Repair (if WinRE doesn't work)
If you can't enter recovery, create a bootable Windows 11 USB:
- On another PC, download the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool.
- Use it to create a bootable USB.
- Insert it into the OMEN desktop.
- Boot from USB (press F9 at startup → select USB).
- Choose "Repair your computer" → use:
- Startup Repair
- System Restore (if enabled)
- Command Prompt (run sfc /scannow, chkdsk, etc.)
🔚 Last Resort: Reinstall Windows
If nothing works, you may need to perform a clean install of Windows:
- Boot from the USB installer.
- Choose "Custom Install" → delete existing Windows partitions and install fresh.
⚠️ Make sure to back up files if possible before doing this.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
