Hi @Anant7

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with your HP Pavilion 14 Laptop where the laptop restarts abruptly, and sometimes you encounter a "BOOT DEVICE NOT FOUND" error or another error. These issues could potentially be related to several factors, such as a loose connection, a faulty hard drive, or BIOS settings. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  1. Check Hard Drive Connection:

    • Ensure that the hard drive is properly connected to the laptop. You may need to open the laptop case to check if the connections are secure, or if you're not comfortable doing that, consider reaching out to a professional for assistance.
  2. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:

    • Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool to perform extensive tests on your hard drive and other hardware components. Restart your laptop and press F2 during the boot process to access the diagnostics tool.
  3. Update BIOS:

    • Ensure your laptop's BIOS is up-to-date. HP regularly releases updates to fix bugs and improve performance. Visit the HP Support website and enter your product details to check for any available BIOS updates.
  4. Check Boot Order in BIOS:

    • Access the BIOS setup by pressing F10 during startup. Go to the "Boot Order" section and ensure that your hard drive is listed as the first boot device.
  5. Perform a System Recovery:

    • If you can access your operating system, back up your data and perform a system recovery. This can help repair any corrupted system files.
  6. Consider Drive Replacement:

    • If diagnostics indicate issues with the hard drive or if the problem persists after trying the above steps, your hard drive might be failing and may need to be replaced.
