Hi @slapoint,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We're here to help you get the camera working again on your HP Laptop PC 15-dy2000 (2D115AV) running Windows 11. Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check if the Camera is Turned Off

  1. Keyboard Shortcut: Press Fn + F6 (or just F6) — this key often toggles the camera on/off on HP laptops.
  2. Look for an LED light near the camera. If it's on, the camera is active. If it's off, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Check the Camera in Device Manager

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand the section called Imaging Devices or Cameras.
  3. Look for your camera (e.g., HP TrueVision HD Camera).
    • If it's listed with a down arrow, right-click and choose Enable.
    • If it's listed with a yellow triangle (!), right-click and choose Update Driver.

Step 3: Update the Camera Driver

  1. In Device Manager, right-click your camera > Update driver.
  2. Select Search automatically for drivers.
  3. If no update is found, visit: HP Laptop PC 15-dy2000 (2D115AV) Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support  (Choose Camera Driver)
  4. Download and install any camera or chipset drivers available.

Step 4: Check Camera Privacy Settings

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera.
  2. Make sure Camera access is turned ON.
  3. Scroll down and ensure that the apps you want to use (e.g., Zoom, Camera app, Teams) have permission to use the camera.

Step 5: Test with the Camera App

  1. Press Windows + S, type Camera, and open the Camera app.
  2. If the camera opens and displays video, it's working.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
