Hi:

Unfortunately, your PC's motherboard does not support a processor upgrade to one that supports Windows 11, which would be an Intel 8th gen core processor.

If you are interested, you can bypass the W11 hardware checks and do an in-place upgrade to W11 using one of various ways to do so.

I have found this one to be the easiest way to do that...

Thank-you.  I may go that route, but I understand Windows 10 will continue to be supported till 2025, so that gives me some time for thinking about it.

You're very welcome.

That is correct.

However, I am unsure as to how long the free upgrade to W11 will be available.

Hopefully indefinitely, but that is unknown.

I still have one unsupported PC left to upgrade to W11 (a Dell Optiplex 7020 with an i5-4590 processor).

The only reason I haven't upgraded it yet is because it is primarily my wife's computer and I wanted to wait until October of this year to see what happens to all of my other PC's when the new release of W11 comes out in October.

For my other PC's it is no problem to reinstall W10 from old images I made when I upgraded them to W11 last November.

My assumption is hopefully, I can use the hack I posted on any future release of W11 and do an in-place upgrade.

But if I were to make a W10 image now and install W11 say today, it will be months of stuff on W11 that will have passed and restoring to W10 from an image made today...will be kind of outdated.

So, I am going to wait as long as I can before I make the move.

My other PC's all work great on W11--even an old HP dc7800 business desktop from 2008.
