when i try to update my bios i get an error notification saying the system cannot find the file specified

Welcome to the HP Forum.

 

Your PC can have three possible MBs:

 

MB SSID 8643

MB SSID 8653

MB SSID 8767

 

Check your PC's MB SSID in HP System Info.

 

Get back to the Forum providing the MB SSID. Or select the correct BIOS update for your PC Here.

 

It's also possible the BIOS update you have downloaded is corrupt. And you might see this error or some other error when trying to do a BIOS rollback.
