HP Compaq Pro 6305 Base Model Microtower PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I use, among other HPs, an HP Compaq Pro 6305 MT PC Product No. QZ709AV and I am still satisfied with the device.

Unfortunately, more and more programs can only be installed on a 64-bit system.

I use WIN10 pro 32-bit and want to update to 64-bit because the PC is 64-bit capable.

Even though my problem is more of a WINDOWS problem than a hardware problem, I would really appreciate it if you could help me.

I have been using WINDOWS for many decades and starting with XP I have always found a way to update WINDOWS to the next version without having to reinstall my programs and without losing data.

Unfortunately, I don't know a way to update to WIN10 64-bit so that all my 32-bit programs will still run without reinstalling and without losing any data.

My PC has WIN10 pro 32-bit installed, but the HP PC is 64-bit capable

If you could show me an update method on how I can update WIN10 from 32-bit to 64-bit (and my installed 32-bit programs are still all running and no data is lost) then I would be really happy!

Thank you for your effort and kind regards!

Hi:

Unfortunately, there is no possible way to do what you want to do.

A clean install of W10 Pro 64 bit would be required.

You will have to reinstall all of your programs and files.

The only advantage of running W10 64 bit is if you want to install memory in excess of 4 GB, or in the example that you described, that certain programs only come in 64-bit editions.

Thank you very much for your answer, I have the same opinion. But if anyone knows a way or a new tool is found, please let me know - thank you!
