compaq pro 6300 mt desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, from Greece!
I've got a compaq pro 6300 mt desktop PC that has 4 usb 3.0 ports available.
These ports were OK when I had W7 Pro installed, but now on W10 / v.1903 they run just as usb 2.0 ports!
Having read another thread about a similar situation here, I did update my bios to v.2.99 first and to v.3.07 right afterwards. Susprisely my problem did not get fixed!
The version of Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller driver windows update has installed is 10.0.18362.1 (18/03/2019) provided by microsoft.
When I try to install the latest one of my product HP support site (for W7 x64bit) I get this error :
''this specific system does not fulfil the minimum requirements for this software installation"
Is there any solution to this?
Thank you!

Greetings,

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Your motherboard chipset dates back to 2012.

There are no Windows 8.0 or 8.1 HP USB 3.0 drivers or chipset drivers available.

The W10 1903 USB 3.0 drivers are not working. I believe this is related to a chipset problem.

Windows 7 USB 3.0 drivers are not going to work.

I don't know. You may have reached the the end of the line at W10 1809 (guessing you were running 1809 prior to updating to 1903).

Remove the W10 1903 USB 3.0 drivers. Reboot and see if Windows Update fixes the problem.

Maybe a different forum member can find USB 3.0 drivers that will work.

Maybe a chipset driver update (remove the current chipset driver and reboot), let W10 1903 reinstall the chipset driver. Windows 1903 may not be supported on your PC's aging motherboard.

Dear Grzwacz,
hi & thanks for quick responding.
I believe you're right about my motherboard has reached the end of the line at W10 generally and I've decided to keep it as it is,without usb 3.0 support, unless a new compatible driver pops up some day in future.
Actually the latest W10 version it worked OK was the 1803 one and ended when I updated to v1809.
I did remove the current 3.0 driver, but after rebooting it was there installed again.
I'm happy with my machine's speed for the few things & stuff I use it for after all,so I'll stick with it for the moment.
Thank you again!
