Warranty expired in 2012 so obviously computer purchased 2010-2011. Did not set up computer until 2016/2017. Upgraded to Windows 10. Used laptop instead of desktop. I now want to set up desktop with an ASUS VK248 LED monitor. Monitor indicates no DVI signal. Computer beeps and flashes at startup. Seems to be five long flashes repeated. Cannot discern any difference in the flash sequence. The only sequence seems to be five long flashes. Cannot discern any short flashes. Cannot get beyond this step.

Hi:
Normally 5 beeps/flashes means there is something wrong with the memory.
First, remove and firmly reseat all of the memory modules to see if that fixes the issue.
If not, remove all of the memory modules but one (have it in the primary memory slot), and test each memory chip one at a time. if the PC still beeps, remove that one and repeat each time until there is no beeping and the PC works.
If none of that works, then the motherboard is probably no good anymore.
