Hi:

No sound, no problem.  There should be two ways you can fix the issue.

1. Install this Vista driver...Restart after installing.

This package contains the audio driver for the ADI AC97 Integrated Digital Audio Controller in the supported desktop models and operating systems.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp36501-37000/sp36530.exe

2. Let Windows Update find and install the driver.

To do that, be connected to the internet...go to the device manager and click on the multimedia audio controller needing the driver.  Click on the driver tab, click on update driver.  Select the automatic search and after several minutes, W/U should find, download and install the sound driver.  Restart the PC afterward.

Did you get the Intel graphics adapter installed by using the XP driver as I suggested, and manually installing it?

If you need help with that process, let me know.

You're very welcome.

Please post the hardware ID for the device.

To find the hardware ID, go to the device manager and click on the generic usb wireless adapter needing the driver.

Then click on the Details tab at the top of the usb wireless adapter window.

Now you will see a Property drop down list and it will be set to Device Description.

Drop down on that list and select the 2nd item (Hardware ID's).

Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.
