HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c0000 (2W0J9AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello! I have dual  monitors with hp laptop. Hdmi adaptor is not working with usb-c.  Not sure what to do next.  I have tried putting hdmi adapter into the hdmi port on laptop it works. However, it's only one hdmi adapter. I had an old laptop and I plugged the hdmi adapter in it and it worked. Seems like monitor is only working if it can be connected in the hdmi port. Not sure what to do. I need the monitors to be extended.

What is your PC 17-c0000 (2W0J9AV)  machine ?  It could be one of the following 70 machines

              https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/product-specs/hp-17.3-inch-laptop-pc-17-c0000/model/2100371461

For example:     HP Laptop 17-cn0046nr

It ONLY has 1 hopeless  SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter

Hello!!  Thanks so much for replying! My laptop serial number is 17-cn0xxx. Can you tell me what would I need to purchase in order for me to use dual monitors?

Wow! You have been the only person that told me what I need! Triple kudos to you.

couple of questions. I see that the one you sent me a picture of us out of stock. However, am I able to purchase a different brand from Amazon? Also do I need to install the display link first and does this extend the monitors. Just confirming before I purchase.
