I got the above failure ID code when trying to start my computer.  How do I fix this?  Do I have to replace the hard drive?  Is there a way to save my iTunes library?  Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, the failure id indicates that the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. Once you have replaced the drive you can try connecting the failed drive to the PC internally or with SATA to USB adapter and see if you can recover files.

So, what you need is a new 3.5" SATA3 HDD

Example:

https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Cache-Desktop-Drive-WD10EZEX/dp/B0088PUEPK/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=wd+3.5&qi...

or you could opt for a 2.5" SATA3 SSD which would give a great boost to everyday performance of the PC

Example

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-500GB-Internal-MZ-76E500B-AM/dp/B0781Z7Y3S/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=ssd&qi...

In support doc below you can see the steps to replace the drive

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05107213

You will need to reinstall the OS. You can create installation media on a different PC. You do not need product key and Windows will automatically activate once installed and connected to the internet.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

After installing and completely updating, you can install HP support assistant for drivers and more

https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html

If you have a backup of the iTunes library or synched to the cloud or another Apple device, you should be able to recover.

Hope it helps,

David
