Hi @14thdave,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

For your HP Pavilion Desktop - 510, upgrading from the Intel HD Graphics 530 and AMD Radeon R5 M320 to a more powerful graphics card can significantly boost performance, especially for gaming, video editing, or other graphic-intensive tasks.

Here are a few recommendations, considering factors like power supply, case size, and compatibility.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super

  • Performance: Offers excellent 1080p gaming performance.
  • Power Supply: Requires around a 450W power supply.
  • Why It's a Good Fit: It's a mid-range GPU that won't require a massive upgrade to your system's power supply or cooling.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050

  • Performance: Great for 1080p gaming and some 1440p gaming, also offers ray tracing and DLSS for better visuals and performance in supported games.
  • Power Supply: Requires a 450-500W PSU.
  • Why It's a Good Fit: An affordable RTX card for ray tracing and newer technologies.

AMD Radeon RX 6600

  • Performance: Excellent 1080p performance with some capability for 1440p gaming.
  • Power Supply: Requires around 450-500W PSU.
  • Why It's a Good Fit: A solid choice for budget-friendly, high-performance gaming.

NVIDIA GTX 1650

  • Performance: Decent upgrade for 1080p gaming compared to your current setup.
  • Power Supply: This GPU has a low power consumption, making it ideal for systems with a lower wattage PSU (300-400W).
  • Why It's a Good Fit: It's a budget option that works well with lower power requirements and compact cases.

Key Considerations:

  • Power Supply: Ensure that your desktop has an adequate PSU for any upgrade. If you have a lower wattage power supply (e.g., 300W), you may need to upgrade to at least a 450W-500W PSU, depending on the card.
  • Physical Space: Check the physical dimensions of your desktop case to ensure the new card will fit, as some higher-end GPUs can be quite large.
  • Compatibility: Ensure that the card you choose is compatible with your motherboard’s PCIe slot. Most modern graphics cards are PCIe x16, which should be fine with your system.

If you're looking for a good balance between price and performance, the GTX 1660 Super or RTX 3050 would be great options for gaming or general graphical improvements.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
