@junes2 -- now [headset] does not work ...
Do you mean that the volume setting on your computer is "zero" or "muted" ?
If you connect some external speakers to that "audio-output" port, is any sound produced?
Is your headset both a microphone and on-ear speakers? Can people hear you talk? Can you hear them talk?

1. No. I'd suspect that windows deems physically unplugged devices as --not there--, do not exist on the PC. This being a fairly recent/up-to-date[microphone/headset] USB device, I'd presumed a plug -n-play aspect would be a trivial pursuit. ...unplug, replug ...

2 ... re (1) ... , any external speaker connections were not under any concerns ..., in considering any audio problems to address ...

3.a[both] re (1) -yes.
3.b[people-hear] No. After checking device-manager, sound-settings , etc., the old re-boot saved the day. Not being a human, the PC just did not know the device was plugged back in, or maybe there's some other settings I need to set so that the user can plug/unplug as she pleases. Say to go for a coffee break .
3.c[you-hear] I 'm not sure if the on-ear speakers were working at that time(I was doing the assist-I think I was told at that time they were) .
