Hi @steven0023,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're having a few issues with your HP p6-2000be after upgrading your PSU and installing a new GPU. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot the issue.

Check PSU Connections

  • Power Supply: Ensure that your 550W PSU has the necessary power connectors for the GTX 1060. The GTX 1060 typically requires one 6-pin power connector. Verify that this connector is securely plugged into both the GPU and the PSU.
  • Additional Power: Ensure that all other power connectors from the PSU are securely connected to the motherboard and any other components.

Inspect GPU Installation

  • Slot: Make sure the GTX 1060 is properly seated in the PCIe slot. Sometimes, even a slightly loose connection can cause boot issues.
  • Pins: Check for any bent or damaged pins on the GPU and the PCIe slot.
  • Brackets: Ensure that the GPU is securely fastened to the case.

BIOS Settings

  • Default Settings: Sometimes, updating or installing new hardware can cause issues with BIOS settings. Try resetting the BIOS to default settings. You can usually do this by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes or using a jumper on the motherboard.
  • Graphics Card Priority: Make sure that the primary display is set to PCIe in the BIOS settings. This option can usually be found under the "Advanced" or "Integrated Peripherals" section of the BIOS.

Check for Compatibility Issues

  • Power Supply Capacity: While 550W should generally be sufficient for a GTX 1060, ensure that the PSU is of good quality and provides stable power. Sometimes, lower-quality PSUs may not provide adequate power to the GPU.
  • BIOS Update: Check if there's a BIOS update available for your motherboard. Some older motherboards may need an update to properly support newer GPUs.

Memory and Other Components

  • RAM: Ensure that the RAM is properly seated and that you're using the correct slots if you've added more. Incorrectly seated RAM or mixed RAM speeds can sometimes cause boot issues.
  • HDD and Other Components: Verify that all other components (HDD, fans, etc.) are properly connected and seated.

Test GPU in Another System

  • Alternate Test: If possible, test the GTX 1060 in another system to confirm that the GPU itself is functioning correctly.

Monitor Connection

  • Check Cable: Ensure the monitor cable is properly connected to the GTX 1060. If you’re using adapters, ensure they are compatible and functioning.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
