the desktop likely has a virus so would like to wipe out the OS and reinstall to have a clean CPU, but do not have the original OS installation files, what is the best steps to reinstall, do I need to get an HP specific OS for my HP Envy desktop that has all the driver bundled or do I need to buy the OS directly from windows, reinstall windows, then go back and install al the HP Envy specific drivers, or some other approach? I don't need to back up any files, just trying to get back and reset back to the original machine set up to be sure any potential virus is removed, thanks!

Hi:
If you want to restore the PC with the original factory image, you will have to purchase recovery media from this vendor, since HP no longer sells recovery media for your PC.
Otherwise, you can reinstall W10 for free by making a bootable W10 USB installation flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.
HP ENVY Desktop - 750-177c Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support
If you use the second method to install W10, when you get to the part that asks 'Where do you want to install Windows, delete every partition on the hard drive, leaving just one partition of unallocated space.
Click Next, and W10 will install.

Your system is permanently licensed, no need to buy a license.

Hi, @BeemerBiker
The PC Is not supported by the HP cloud recovery tool because I checked before replying.
You can do likewise by entering the product number of the PC's in the box at the link below...
Cloud Recovery (cloud-recovery.s3-website-us-west-1.amazonaws.com)
N0B21AA#ABA
So, yes there is a need to purchase recovery media if the person wants the original HP system image.
