how can i reset my bios password

The mechanism inside is that your BIOS password is not influence by your computer battery over all, rather, it is supported by small battery which has been inserted in the motherboard. So if you remove the small CMOS battery, the computer will lose the information it has stored before, including the BIOS password.

remove the CMOS battery and that should reset the password. You wont lose any Data saved on your hard drive.

Hi,

i researched on this and figured that the issue on this may not be CMOS battery.

Sometimes you can not clear the BIOS-Boot password resp. BIOS-Setup password by resetting the CMOS, because most of all (99%) notebooks have a better theft protection. They have an additional small, hidden IC which stores the password. That means: the password is not stored inside the CMOS! But you can also try to reset the CMOS. Other notebooks are able to store the password on a hidden hard disk sector. Your only chance is to contact the support of your notebook manufacturer. Depending on the manufacturer, you have to send him the serial number of the notebook and you'll get (in many cases free of charge) an individual master password to unlock the notebook. Some other manufacturers even offer only the replacement of the notebook's mainboard.   This is the best

I've read, anywhere from 10 secs to 25 minutes (even one site said a few days) to wait after removing the CMOS battery. I've also read that some laptops have a "hidden IC which stores the password" or that the password may be stored on a sector of the hard drive. You might remove the hard drive and see what happens.

HP Dreamscreen was launched around year 2010. BIOS was blocked due to security issues of online software. Further in the upgarde version of Dreamscreen it started coming with Windows Dual Boot. You can follow the below instructions to unlock the BIOS.

Bios update

1. Restart the device and log into FreeDos partition. This will launch Command Prompt.

2. In Command Prompt type biosupd.bat and hit enter. Select option A to complete the BIOS flash.

3) Factory Script execution

1. Restart the device, log into DreamScreen partition

2. Factory script will automatically run, complete all the steps including calibration of touch screen.

4) User profile recovery

1. Restart and log into DreamScreen partition and

2. recovery user profile using Ctrl+Shift+F4

Hope this Helps
