How to hook up a wireless external microphone to my Envy 27 desk top

What is your Envy 27  ? For example: HP ENVY 27-b235t All-in-One Desktop PC, its specs

The above machine has  Headphone/Microphone (port # 2) on the side I/O ports area. You can use that port for a microphone.

 

Worse case, that port does NOT support standalone microphone, you can use option use USB microphone. For example

 

                    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/collections/dj-musical-instruments/microphones
