@franchoix81, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Installing an Extra SSD in Your PC!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Steps to Install an Extra SSD in Your PC:
Check Compatibility: Ensure your motherboard (ERICA2-ARICA5 REV A) supports additional SSD installation. Refer to the motherboard manual for details on available SATA or NVMe slots.
Gather Necessary Tools:
- Screwdrivers
- SSD mounting bracket or adapter (if required)
- SATA or NVMe cables
Power Down Your PC: Ensure the PC is turned off and unplugged from the power source.
Open Your PC Case: Unscrew and remove the side panel of your PC case to access the motherboard and internal components.
Locate SSD Installation Slot:
- For SATA SSD: Find a free SATA port on the motherboard and a corresponding power connector from the power supply.
- For NVMe SSD: Locate an available M.2 slot on the motherboard.
Install SSD:
- SATA SSD:
- Connect the SATA cable from the SSD to the motherboard's SATA port.
- Connect the power cable from the SSD to a power connector from the power supply.
- Secure the SSD using mounting brackets or adapters as needed.
- NVMe SSD:
- Insert the NVMe SSD into the M.2 slot at an angle.
- Push down and secure the SSD with a screw.
Close Your PC Case: Return the side panel and secure it with screws.
Power On Your PC: Plug in and power on your PC.
Configure SSD: After installation, boot up your PC and:
- Access the BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure the SSD is recognized.
- Use Windows Disk Management to format and allocate the new SSD.
I hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
