@GR49er Welcome to HP Forums Community!

I suggest you go through the upgrading and servicing guide for your AIO Desktop: Click here and visit Page 8 for a picture portrayal of how to remove the back cover/enclosure and make the necessary changes to upgrade the RAM.

Here is how to open back of HP Pavilion all in one 24-x024 computer to install ram etc.: tools needed, plastic pry tools, 3/32" allen wrench, phillips head screw driver.  First, remove 4 screws from the stand attached to back with allen wrench. Then the back cover area prys off with plastic tools worked under the edges and it will snap up and off.  Then, there are about 7 or 8 phillips head screws attaching a metal cage cover that must be taken off to get to the RAM under it.  Tap the metal cage with your hands to release any static from your body.  The screws are all marked with little arrow lines etched into the cage cover to find them.  Carefully lift up the metal cage just enough to reach under and unclip the 8 GB RAM on each side.  The RAM will pull out and then insert new upgraded 16 GB RAM and be sure to reclip them in on each side.  Then screw metal cage back in

place and snap plastic cover back on and screw on the stand. Note, the pictures below are not is order so refer to the number for each one.
