Desktop M01-F0xxx.
I had this problem: After every reboot the system time and date reverted to 21 November. It was suggested the CMOS battery was probably dead, so I replaced it with a new one.
(1) After replacement, I've tried to reset the BIOS date and time, but there seems to be no way to enter today's date, viz. 23/11/2024, successfully. I type '23' Enter ; '23' is accepted but the window then skips to the exit.
If I accept the incomplete date and re-enter BIOS set-up, '23' may have been kept and if so, I can type '11'. Enter exits again.
If I re-enter BIOS I can type '2024' Enter.
(2) On booting up I find the system date and time have now been set to 17 January 2024, 12.23 and the PC reverts to this new date and time after each re-boot.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I was able to confirm that the BIOS clock WAS using US date format.
There was still the same trouble with making date entries, however.
I eventually found that I needed to start by setting Time first.
Then F5 (down) or F6 (up) selected the Hour and 'Enter' moved to Minutes, allowing me to set them too.
Moving to the Date I was able to select the Day with F5 and F6 ; 'Enter' moved to the Month. I was able to set the Month in the same way and 'Enter' moved to the Year............
So SOLVED
eventually!

I wonder if it will work if you try and set the date the way we do it in the USA:
11/23/2024
Can't you also set the time and date in the BIOS via Windows?
Go to the Windows control panel>clock and region>set the time and date>internet time tab>change settings>click on the update the 'Update now' synchronization button.

It's a thought.
However, I don't seem to be able to enter anything as a complete date: if I start with the year field, Enter still causes it to skip to the exit.
Windows is not an option for me; the OS is Linux
