While your linked HP thread is generally useful, if the OP has an OEM version of Win10 (which they will, if their PC came preinstalled with Win10) and they are using an MS download to attempt to do the Upgrade to Pro, I believe that will NOT work -- because they require very different product keys.

So, in that case, there is no Activation workaround that will work.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

I read your post about not being able to upgrade to Win10 Pro and wanted to help -- but need more information.

First of all, we need the detailed product number of your PC: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001

Second, we need to know if your PC came preinstalled with Win10.

We can proceed once you provide the information.

Thanks

Thanks for your time to answer.  However, the results are the same.  I get a popup window that says Error: 0xC004F050 The Software Licensing Service reported that the product key is invalid.. I have not tried the phone route yet.
