Sir, i am getting occasional bsod error: critical process died and after trying restarting it says "no boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed". This bsod error and then this no boot disk... error usually occures when my hp desktop stays off for some time (say for 1 hr or long). After some time getting this "no boot disk...." error, my pc starts and run normally like nothing happened! Then, i tried hp hdd test, which is saying:

Hard Disk SMART Check: PASSED

Hard Disk Short DST : FAILED

FAILURE ID : 90CF2M-0009S1-9XPJXG-60Q103

PRODUCT ID : H3W37AA#ACJ

Hard Disk 1

Hard Disk Test : FAILED

Please help!

Hi:

That code means the hard drive needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled.

I suggest that you back up any files you don't want to lose, because one day when you go to boot up the PC, it won't work.
