Honestly, it sounds like the LCD screen got damaged while you were attempting to clean the dirt off. If you send the laptop in for repair, it may be determined that the issue was causes by accidental damage and you may end up being responsible for the repair costs.

Hi,
I'm having the same issue with my laptop and not able to even get support for this issue.
Have been having this problem from last week and just got off chat with HP chat support and guess what. they are asking me to bring the laptop to the US to fix... how stupid.
Took this is HP Service center in Chennai, India and they tell me to call US support to ship out the screen, but not one is even willing to help.
there are number of cases created with HP but still no one is able to fix this, its not our fault for this issue, its got to do soming with the scree quality or some connection issue cause when moved it works fine...
Someone from HP please help me .. [Personal Information Removed]
