Hi @delanmatt,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

If your HP Pavilion Wave Desktop 600-a1 is not turning on when you press the power switch, here are some troubleshooting steps to identify and possibly resolve the issue:

1. Check the Power Supply

  • Ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the desktop and a functioning power outlet.
  • Test the power outlet by plugging in another device to ensure it's delivering power.

2. Inspect the Power Adapter (if applicable)

  • If the Pavilion Wave uses an external power adapter, check the adapter for damage, such as frayed wires or a damaged plug.
  • If possible, test with another compatible power adapter.

3. Look for Power Indicators

  • Check if any lights (on the power button or elsewhere on the device) turn on when you press the power button or connect the device to power.
  • Listen for sounds such as fans spinning or hard drive activity.

4. Reset the Power Supply

  • Disconnect the power cord and any peripherals.
  • Hold the power button down for 15–20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the power cord and try turning it on again.

5. Inspect the Power Button

  • Examine the power button for any physical damage or obstructions.
  • If the power button feels stuck or unresponsive, it might need to be repaired or replaced.

6. Check for Internal Issues

  • If you're comfortable opening the desktop, ensure all internal connections (e.g., motherboard power cables) are secure.
  • Look for any signs of damage, such as burnt components or loose wires.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
