Looking at the manual below, even in the illustrated part, it accepts SSD but of the SATA III model

I looked at all the specifications and it does not show compatibility with other SSD models.

So, I even looked at the manual to be able to answer correctly. It has a space for this, but it doesn't indicate which exact model to use.
That's why the recommendation to use a SATA III

Hello Fabio_l32 good to hear from you again. I agree with you totally and truly appreciate your interest in helping me decide which path to take. I finally found a video of a guy upgrading my exact hp z240 sff computer and finally saw where the m.2 nvme ssd would go. crucial scan says that my computer will take a t500ssd gen 4 7300 read 6800 write with that type of speed a heat sink is a must. The sata that you advise is a sure thing , the crucial suggestion is scary. I will try the nvme way this time because if my hp z240 don't work out my two newer laptops I brought this year will most likely handle the nvme m.2 ssd..I will inform you of the results. Thanks again for your time and effort to help .
