My HD crashed and I have replaced it. I also found a USB thumb drive installed inside the drive/memory bay (an internal USB port with a 16GB thumb drive plugged it). I had hoped this was a bootable recovery drive but I can't seem to get it to boot. What is this thumb drive for? Is it a recovery drive and I'm just don't know how to boot from it?

As you certain that it isn't the keyboard and  mouse dongle instead of a usb flashdrive?

Most AIO PCs have them.

If you have already verified that the one you are referring to is indeed a 16GB flashdrive and not a dongle, it could be an error made in manufacture. It does happen, although I have never heard of one quite like this.
