@holly170, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Pavilion - 15-cs3065cl.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

If you are encountering the CMOS Reset Error (502) on your HP Pavilion - 15-cs3065cl multiple times a day, even with an updated BIOS, it might indicate an issue unrelated to the BIOS update itself. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot the problem:

  1. Press Enter: When the error appears, press the Enter key to restart your computer.

  2. Check the Battery:

  3. The CMOS battery might be losing its charge, which could result in this error. Consider replacing the CMOS battery on the motherboard. Refer to your service manual for exact instructions on accessing and replacing the battery.

  4. Restore the BIOS:

  5. If the error persists after rebooting, you can attempt to restore the BIOS by creating a USB recovery drive.
  6. For more detailed steps on recovering the BIOS using a USB drive, you can refer to the appropriate HP recovery resources for your Pavilion model.

  7. Reset BIOS Defaults:

  8. When in the BIOS menu, consider resetting all settings to their default values, as this might resolve unexpected CMOS errors.
  9. Enter BIOS Setup by pressing F10 repeatedly during boot, navigate to the Exit or similar tab, and select "Load Setup Defaults" or "Restore Defaults."

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
