A common option:

• Scan the content
• Save the scanned content to a file (PDF or Photo / Image) on your device (computer, tablet, phone)
• Open your email and create the email setup
• Attach your file to the email and Send

If Windows, be sure to first add your sender's email address to the New Outlook application

 HP Smart - Windows or Mobile - supports "Share" to email

HP Smart - Shortcuts - supports and Email option for content scanned or opened in the HP Smart application.
