never mind!! I didn't realize the 9th gen i7 was the only recent i7 to not feature hyperthreading!

Yes, this doesn't make any sense, but it is true.  I guess it is a way to lower the price.

Since that processor has 8 cores, hyperthreading would allow 16 threads.

What sort of programs do you simultaneously run that would keep all 16 threads "busy" ?
