The HP process called "insightsprocessinfo" and to a smaller extent - "HP Insights analytics" are spiking my new Intel 15-12400 cpu to over 10% when I first turn on the computer and begins causing performance issues.
The issue is when these services are running (several seconds) - at that time any video and mouse movements begin to stutter until the service(s) turn off, then all video and mouse movements go back to normal.
These services seem to continue on and off for about 5-8 minutes after initial computer start. After which all video and mouse performance go back to normal with no further stuttering.
What I need to know is how can I just go about uninstalling these services - or any applications that are causing these services to run. These appear to be HP only and not from windows 11. I am ok with anything that results from deleting these HP applications/services , but just unsure how to do this.
I did some research on this prior to my post here and found that turning off the services does not fix the issue as they will reappear each time computer is turned back on. I have also turned off all startup programs to see if this helps, but does not.
So anyone who may have had this similiar issue and resolved it - or if you have a good idea on how to fix this issue would be of great help. Thanks in advance

Hi @ea0680,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To resolve the issue with "insightsprocessinfo" and "HP Insights analytics" causing CPU spikes and performance issues, you can either disable these services or uninstall the associated HP software. Here are steps for both approaches:
1. Disabling the Services
Disabling the services should prevent them from running and causing CPU spikes. However, as you've noted, they may re-enable themselves after a restart. Here's how to attempt it:
Through Services:
- Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type services.msc and press Enter.
- In the Services window, look for services related to HP (e.g., "HP Insights", "HP Analytics").
- Right-click each service and select Properties.
- Change the Startup type to Disabled.
- Click Stop if the service is running, then click Apply and OK.
Through Task Scheduler:
- Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type taskschd.msc and press Enter.
- In the Task Scheduler, look for any tasks related to HP (often found in the HP or Hewlett-Packard folders).
- Right-click the task and select Disable.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Ok, I always dislike when others do not update their initial post , so I wanted to comeback and update this community on what I did to resolve this issue ( Note: I am just a regular computer user and not an expert).
1) I created system restore point ( to "undo" any issues, if needed later ).
2) I then uninstalled the largest "HP" applications - large file size ones (diagnostics, etc), keeping smaller HP apps.
3) I then restarted computer.
RESULT : The Insightsprocessinfo" service has never appeared again. Which for me means that my mouse and videos are no longer stuttering and are working as normal.
So this might not be the best way to fix this issue, but it worked for me. Several weeks have passed and have not seen any negative effect from these changes. Hope this helps

OK- 2nd Update. After posting my resolution on how to remove the "Insights processinfo " backround service that was causing intermittent video/mouse/CPU spike performance issue, I have a further update.
I noticed today that I started to have the issue of stuttering video / mouse/ cpu spike after starting computer. I went to see the services that were running - I noticed that "Insights processinfo " was back causing problems.
So I looked at my installed programs and found that app "HP One Agent" has somehow found a way back onto to my computer. I quickly uninstalled the program. Not sure how this reinstalled without me noticing - perhaps through a recent "windows update" process, but at least now I can better identify that it was the "HP one agent" program causing my performance issues. Resolved.
