HP Slimline 260 a120nl

Hello everyone,my name is Luca and i apologize immediately for my bad english.
Having died my old laptop,i see myself forced to quickly take a new computer.
In a store near my house i saw a HP Slimline 260 a120nl that i would like to buy.
I would have the need to install Linux (Ubuntu) instead of windows and to avoid being with an expensive paperweight,i wanted to ask if someone had already done this thing with this model of computer.

I thank anyone who will give me an answer.

Luca

Hi luca69,

mdklassen is right; you're more likely to find someone with experience installing a specific linux distro on the forum for that distro. My experience has generally been positive installing openSUSE on HP hardware. Because the Slimline has integrated graphics from Intel, the opensource video driver should work fine. -GEF

A very-similar computer: HP Slimline Desktop - 260-p100nl PC Product Specifications

was first marketed in August 2016, and was pre-installed with Windows 10, not Ubuntu.

So, you could reinstall Windows 10, for free.

On any working Windows computer, see: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

to download Windows 10.

When installing Windows 10, you will be asked for the 25-character product-key.

Just click "I do not have one".

Windows will install.

Connect to the Internet, and Windows will automatically "activate".

Look on the various Ubuntu forums, for assistance with installing that operating system on your hardware.

Thanks for the help.

I had already searched the site of Canonical but among all the HP computers listed, the series that interests me is not present.

I'll try to still search on the Linux forums, anyway again thanks.
