Microsoft Windows 11

I would like to install Windows 10 Pro on System model HP All-in-one 24-dd0xxx , System SKU 9ed55aa#aba that came with Windows 11 pre-installed. Can I simply do a clean install using a bootable USB thumb drive? I have a valid Windows 10 Pro product key. Thanks for any enlightenment.

Hi:

You should be able to install W10 by creating a bootable USB installation flash drive using the media creation tool from the link below.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

Before doing that, I suggest you create a system image of your current W11 installation prior to updating to W10, so you can easily reinstall W11 in the future.  I used the free Macrium Reflect software to do that, under the Backup at Home section.

Along with the system image, make sure you create the bootable DVD or USB rescue drive you boot from to access the system image stored on your portable hard drive.

I don't believe that you will even need to use the W10 Pro product key, unless you want to upgrade to W10 Pro, and if that is the case, don't do that until after W10 Home is installed.

You upgrade to W10 Pro like this...

  1. Select Start Settings System > Activation.

  2. Select Change product key, and then enter the 25-character Windows 11 Pro product key.

  3. Select Next to start the upgrade to Windows 11 Pro.

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.

None of the Intel drivers on the support page are applicable to your model since it has an AMD processor and chipset.
