I have a camera mounted on a monitor. it has a USB and a microphone. The USB input is just for the camera and there is a 3.5 plug for the microphone. The audio inputs on the front and back of my PC have headphone symbols. Plugging the microphone in any of them fails to work. I think the microphone plug is referred to as TRS and the headphone jack as TRRS.
Has anyone had success with a TRS to TRRS adapter in this situation?

Hello,
The HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Base Model Tower PC features an audio-out jack for powered audio devices, which is compatible with CTIA headset support. This means it should work with both headphones and microphones using a standard stereo 3.5mm TRRS connector. However, if you're experiencing issues, you might want to check the audio control settings on your PC to ensure proper configuration. As for using a TRS to TRRS adapter, some users have reported success, but results may vary depending on the specific hardware and adapter used.
