@iqbal41, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing a couple of issues with your HP laptop. Let's break them down:
1. Battery Issue
Your laptop shutting down unexpectedly despite having more than 40% battery could be due to several reasons:
- Battery Calibration: Sometimes, the battery needs to be calibrated to accurately reflect its charge level.
- Battery Health: If the battery is old or has gone through many charge cycles, it might not hold a charge properly. Running an HP hardware diagnostic test can help determine the battery's health.
- Driver Issues: Ensure that your battery drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager by right-clicking on the battery drivers and selecting "Update driver".
2. Startup Interface and Time Issue
The startup interface you're seeing might be related to the BIOS or UEFI settings. Here's what you can do:
- BIOS Settings: Enter the BIOS setup by restarting your laptop and pressing the appropriate key (usually F10, ESC, or DEL) during startup. Check the battery and time settings there.
- Time Settings: If your laptop's clock is incorrect, it can cause various issues. Make sure the time is set correctly in both Windows and the BIOS.
Steps to Troubleshoot
- Run HP Hardware Diagnostics: Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool to check the battery health.
- Update BIOS: Ensure your BIOS is up to date. You can find BIOS updates on the HP support website.
- Calibrate the Battery: Follow HP's instructions for battery calibration to ensure accurate battery readings.
- Check Time Settings: Verify that the time and date are correct in both Windows and the BIOS.
