Hi All;
I'm trying to locate a BIOS update for the above machine. It seems that HP does not list or provide updates for that machine if it's running Windows 10.
So, do I need to pull the current drive, install Windows 7 and update the BIOS from there, or is there another repository where I can get the update and install it manually?
Thanks!

Hi:
You should be able to use the F10 setup BIOS option where you aren't even in Windows to update the BIOS.
You will find the latest BIOS update on the W8.1 driver page.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-compaq-elite-8300-ultra-slim-pc/5232866
In order to update to a 3.xx BIOS revision, you first have to update the BIOS to v2.99.
When you download and run the update file, an information page will open and give you the various methods to update the BIOS. Follow the instructions under the F10 setup BIOS flash section.

Hmmmm.
I found v03.08 04/10/2019, but no 2.99. (current one in is 2.86). Saw a v. 2.90 in the Windows 7/64 section. I tried running the 3.08 download from Windows, and it appeared to go through all the expected steps ... but no actual update was done. I suspect this is due to what you said about 2.99 first.
So ... one step closer, thanks! Is there any repository where I might find v. 2.99?

You're very welcome.
It's under the previous versions section...
