Hi @sr4658

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The error message "Something happened with your PIN and it is no longer available" typically occurs due to changes in security settings, system updates, or corrupted files.

Here are some steps to resolve it:

Restart Your Computer:

Shut down your PC completely and turn it back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can fix the issue.

Reset Your PIN:

On the login screen, select "I forgot my PIN."

Follow the prompts to reset your PIN using your Microsoft account credentials.

Sign in with a Password:

If you can't reset your PIN, use your password to log in.

Once logged in, go to "Settings" > "Accounts" > "Sign-in options" and set up a new PIN.

Boot into Safe Mode:

Restart your computer and hold the Shift key while selecting "Restart."

Choose "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Startup Settings" > "Restart."

Select "Enable Safe Mode" and log in with your password. Then, reset your PIN in "Sign-in options."

Use the Built-in Administrator Account:

On the login screen, press Shift and select "Restart."

Go to "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Command Prompt."

Type net user administrator /active:yes and press Enter.

Restart your computer and log in with the administrator account to fix the issue.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
