Hi

Usual answer is

Piriform Recuva

a Lo-Cost/No-Cost solution.

What @Lil_Boy_Blue is recommending to you is something known as a Data Recovery application.  Those know what file headers and folders headers look like in a filesystem even though the OS (in this case, Windows) does not SEE them.

They are then able to find those, present them to you, and allow you to recover them -- but you have to do it to a different drive.  So, you will need a USB stick inserted into your PC when you run the app in order to save the recovered files.

Another such example is this one: http://www.majorgeeks.com/news/story/recover_data_in_3_steps_with_minitool_power_data_recovery_free_...

But they all work essentially the same way.

Good Luck
